Bashir Uddin (Late) was a respected and pioneering businessman in Hyderabad’s renowned Glass Bangle Industry. A devoted father of nine children—three sons and six daughters—he began his professional journey at a very young age and built his career through determination, integrity, and unwavering commitment.
Starting as a young worker, he gradually progressed from a shopkeeper to an established manufacturer and ultimately became the owner of a successful Glass Bangle manufacturing factory. His entrepreneurial vision, exceptional business acumen, and commitment to quality enabled him to establish a leading position within the industry.
His business expanded beyond the local market of Hyderabad, Sindh, with sales outlets also established in Lahore, reflecting his ambition to take Hyderabad's traditional craftsmanship to wider markets.
In 1980, at approximately 45 years of age, Bashir Uddin suffered a severe heart attack and underwent an attempted heart bypass operation. Sadly, he did not survive.
More than four decades after his passing, his name and legacy continue to be remembered with great respect by people associated with Hyderabad's Glass Bangle Industry. In recognition of his contribution and standing within the industry, Hyderabad Glass Bangles Chowk was named “Bashiruddin Chowk” in his honor.
His life remains a testament to perseverance, entrepreneurship, honesty, and visionary leadership.
